12-3-2013 Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority Unveils 5-Year Strategic Plan
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority operates the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Reno-Stead Airport which generate approximately $2 billion annually in economic impact for the region. Together, both airports bring travelers and goods to and from the region and are a primary catalyst for economic and business development.
On Tuesday morning, the Authority unveiled a 5-year Strategic Plan to the local community. The plan, a comprehensive strategy that identifies the priorities and goals that will guide the Authority for the next 5 years, was presented at a breakfast that was attended by political leaders, tourism officials, business executives, the local media and more.
The Strategic Plan was developed during a public process earlier this year that involved the Airport Authority Board of Trustees, staff members, airport committee members, user groups, community business and tourism leaders, and the public. The plan identifies the Authority’s priorities, goals and steps to achieve those goals for the next 5 years.
While the plan focuses on 5 Strategic Priorities, Marily Mora, the President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority focused primarily on the fact that Strategic Plan will be successful and drive growth for the local region if the local community is engaged.
