06-30-2015 - RNO Announces Non-Sop Service to Boise on Alaska Airlines

RENO, NV. – Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) proudly announces daily non-stop service to Boise, ID on Alaska Airlines beginning November 5, 2015.

“Boise is a great addition to our growing list of non-stops and it will also provide convenient connecting service to Spokane, Washington,” Marily Mora, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport said. “We appreciate Alaska Airlines bringing Boise back to our community.”

Non-stop service to Boise was previously offered on Southwest Airlines but left Reno-Tahoe in January 2012. For three years, the staff at Reno-Tahoe has worked diligently to bring the popular service back.

“Alaska Airlines is showing its growing commitment to the Reno-Tahoe region,” Mora said. “Now that we have landed this service again for our community, it is very important for our region to support the flight and fill the seats.”

Horizon Air, Alaska’s sister carrier, will fly the route with a 76-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft. It will depart Reno at 4:35 p.m. and arrive in Boise at 6:55 p.m. It will depart Boise at 6:15 p.m. and arrive in Reno at 6:44 p.m. The Boise route also offers great connectivity in to another popular market, Spokane, Washington; with only a half hour connect time.

To inaugurate the new service, Alaska is offering introductory one-way fares as low as $79 on flights between between Boise and Reno. To take advantage of these fares, customers must purchase tickets by July 7 and travel by Feb. 7, 2016.

This new service to Boise is in addition to two big air service announcements recently made by Reno-Tahoe International: JetBlue started non-stop daily flights to New York City, in to JFK Airport on May 28th. And Volaris Airlines has offered twice-weekly international service to Guadalajara, Mexico since December 2014.

“The airport is proud to be able to offer new non-stop destinations to the region,” continued Mora. “And now it is up to the community to fill the seats, whether it’s to New York City, Guadalajara, Mexico, or Boise.”
