Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) experienced the greatest October ever in cargo numbers and passenger travel is up 10.9 percent, compared to October 2014.

The airport has seen positive passenger growth for the fifth consecutive month. And cargo is experiencing record lift, with an increase of 6.4 percent when compared to October 2014. With such numbers, Reno-Tahoe International Airport is positioned to finish 2015 well ahead of last year in passenger numbers and cargo.

Year-to-date, RNO served 2,892,731 passengers, representing an increase of 2.7% when compared to the same time period last year.  This growth is representative of the region’s growing economy.

“Thanks to support from the community, the airlines at RNO are performing well and flights are operating with a healthy load factor of 86 percent” said Marily Mora, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. “We are looking forward to continuing high passenger and cargo counts through the holidays.”

Reno-Tahoe International Airport handled 12,160,586 pounds of cargo in October, which represents the best recorded monthly number at RNO ever in terms of cargo lift. And cargo year-to-date is 5.9 percent ahead of last year when compared to the same period last year, and is on track to be the best year ever in terms of air cargo.

RNO is currently served by eight airlines providing 57 daily departures to 17 non-stop destinations. In 2015, the airport began new service on JetBlue to New York, Volaris to Guadalajara, Alaska to Boise and announced new service starting in 2016 on Alaska to Orange County and Southwest to Oakland.
