RNO Security

Airport Operation Specialists

RNO’s Airport Operation Specialists (AOS) are responsible for vehicle inspection, monitoring airfield access gates in order to ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations, and quality and compliance of ground security services activities including monitoring the front curb.

Drone Safety

Drone operators must receive authorization by the Federal Aviation Administration prior to operation in controlled airspace. Drone, or Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), operators should avoid flying near RNO because it is difficult for manned aircraft to see and avoid drones. Airspace authorizations come with altitude limitations and may include other operational provisions. Controlled airspace and other flying restrictions can be found on the FAA’s B4UFLY app.
