05-28-2014 - Airport to Conduct Emergency Response Training Exercise

Thursday, 8am-2pm, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be conducting Emergency Response Training on the south end of the Airport. This exercise will prepare the Airport and regional first responders in case of an actual emergency. The airport is required by Federal Aviation Administration standards to conduct a full-scale training exercise every three years.

Tomorrow from 6am – 12pm, Peckham Lane (between Longley Ln. and Airway Dr) will be closed to traffic. In addition to the road closure, you may see smoke and emergency response vehicles in the area. Do not be alarmed, these are all part of the exercise.

If you would like to follow the training exercise virtually you can do so on Twitter by following @RNOtraining or #RNOtest.
