Public Information Meeting No. 3 (9/28/17)

The third public information meeting was held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.  During the 2.5 hour open house, Airport Authority and project consultant staff discussed the master plan project with members of the public in a casual environment. The primary focus of this meeting was to share a series of alternative improvement projects which could be used to address capacity and modernization issues over a 20-year period.

Alternative projects under consideration include options to:

  • Increase the number and size of the concourse gates & holdrooms
  • Expand and relocate the customs facility for international passengers
  • Expand public parking and rental car spaces
  • Improve wayfinding and passenger flow in the terminal building
  • Identify locations for future air cargo and general aviation growth including aircraft parking and service areas

  • Passenger Terminal Facilities including the ticketing hall, baggage claim, TSA checkpoint, concessions, gaming, concourses, passenger holdrooms, aircraft gates, and the customs facility.

  • Airside Facilities including taxiway system improvements and facilities for air cargo, general aviation, and airfield maintenance. Other projects included locations for consolidated aircraft deicing and general aviation aircraft run-up areas.
