Instructors in Practice: Nature and Environment
Instructors in Practice: Nature and Environment highlights the artistic talents of Nevada Museum of Art E.L. Cord Museum School Instructors, presented through the very mediums they teach. This year’s theme, Nature and Environment, invites visitors into a dynamic exploration of the natural world and our relationship to it.
Spanning painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, photography, textiles and mixed media, the exhibition reflects a wide range of perspectives and approaches. From intimate studies of flora and fauna to abstract interpretations of ecological systems, each work demonstrates the unique vision of the artist-educators who inspire creativity in the classroom.
Together, these works remind us of the vital role that nature and environment play in shaping artistic practice, while also celebrating the Museum School’s community of teaching artists as they share their voices beyond instruction.
Museum School
The E.L. Cord Museum School offers tuition-based art classes year-round, to foster creativity in people of all ages – from infants to seniors – and across skill-level. The Museum School offers 75 different classes, including ceramics, sewing, painting, glass, printmaking, drawing, photography, book arts, and more. With 33 instructors, the Museum School is a standout place to continue your education in the arts or begin exploring new creative interests. The Museum School is growing, too. A new classroom was built in the Charles and Stacie Mathewson Education + Research Center to accommodate the more than 2000 students it sees each year.
