Tiny Titans: The Power of the Maquette
This one-of-a-kind depARTures gallery exhibition, Tiny Titans: The Power of the Maquette, offers an intimate look into the creative visions of two Burning Man artists through the presentation of maquettes – scaled models that preview the ambitious, grand installations planned for the Playa.
Featured are Mark Rivera and Turburam Sandagdorj (a.k.a. STuro), renowned local artists who work out of Reno’s premier makerspace, The Generator, and are Burning Man Project Honoraria Grant Recipients.
This eclectic display of maquettes served not only as blueprints for their monumental works, but also as standalone pieces that invite viewers into the conceptual and material process behind the transformative art of Burning Man.
