Weekend Parking in High Demand – Consider Catching a Ride
We’re giving away $10 rideshare vouchers on Uber and Lyft to RNO.
Use promo code: RNOFall25
Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) provides safe, well-lit parking conveniently located just across from the terminal. Our parking facility and lots are open 24/7, 365 days out of the year.
With limited space and high demand, our parking lots often fill quickly, especially during peak travel times. However, we offer solutions, including overflow parking when main lots reach capacity—just follow posted signage to locate these areas.
Please note:
- Daily rates apply after six hours.
- Available spot counts below are accurate and reflect public availability.
- Height restrictions vary; please review details in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
How Airport Parking Works
Parking fills quickly, especially during busy travel times. Use the real-time parking tool to check availability, and if lots are full, you may be directed to overflow parking.
To make your trip as easy as possible, we recommend reserving early, arriving early or taking a rideshare, taxi or other transportation option to RNO. When in doubt, plan ahead for overflow parking.
Reserve parking when booking flights
Reserve parking when you book your flight to avoid overflow parking. While we test the new reservation system, about 300 spaces in the Long-Term Garage can be reserved in advance out of roughly 1,600 total spaces.
During busy travel times, both reserved spaces and general Long-Term Garage spots can fill up quickly. Using our parking reservation tool and booking early is the best way to guarantee convenient parking and avoid being directed to overflow lots.
Understanding “Full” or “RES*”
Use the real-time parking tool to see how many spaces are available in each parking option. Parking can fill up very quickly, with hundreds of spaces taken in as little as 20 minutes. (One 757 flight carries about 200 passengers.)
- If the Short-Term Garage or Long-Term Surface shows “Full,” you will be directed to overflow parking.
- When the Long-Term Garage reaches capacity, it switches to reservation only “RES*”. Only passengers with pre-booked parking reservations can enter the lot.
Arrive early, even for reservations
Parking is in high demand and overflow parking is used often. Even if lots appear open, it can take time to find a space. If all options are full, allow extra time to reach off-site overflow parking. If you have not reserved a spot in advance, we recommend planning ahead for overflow parking to make your trip as smooth as possible.
Catch a Ride to RNO
Parking is in high demand, and passengers are often directed to overflow lots. If you want to avoid overflow and have not reserved a space in the Long-Term Garage, we recommend taking a rideshare, taxi, or other transportation option to the airport.
Get Real-Time Parking Updates
Color-coded numbers show parking availability, similar to a stoplight: green means plenty of spots, yellow means spaces are limited, and red means few or no spots are available.
Now Booking
We’re testing a new parking reservation system to help travelers guarantee a space in the Long-Term Garage on busy travel days. A reservation gives you peace of mind knowing you’ll still be able to park even if the garage closes to non-reserved drivers. Use our feedback form to share your experience as we test this new system.
