The Season of Giving, Curbside Edition

With increased holiday crowds at RNO, curbside drop-offs played a big role in keeping things moving smoothly. Our Curbside Kindness Team surprised drivers with gift cards to thank them for helping ease parking congestion by giving their friend or family member a ride to the airport.

2025: A Year in Review

RNO closed 2025 with 4.9 million passengers, surpassing last year’s record and now marking the airport’s busiest year since 2008. Growth was supported by expanded air service, continued progress on the MoreRNO Infrastructure Program and dozens of behind-the-scenes improvements that keep the airport operating safely and efficiently every day.

Key milestones included groundbreakings for the Central Utility Plant, the Police and Airport Authority Headquarters and the Ground Transportation Center, with construction on two new concourses – the largest and final phase of MoreRNO – set to begin in early 2026. The year also marked the start of a project to update the Reno-Stead Airport Master Plan, a long-range effort to guide future aviation, aerospace and business development at Reno-Stead Airport. The airport also continued work on a new concessions program in 2025, hosting meet-and-greet and community feedback opportunities to connect small and local businesses with prime concessionaires. Public Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to fill available concessions spaces are expected to launch in 2026, supporting refreshed food, beverage and retail offerings.

Together, these investments reinforce the RTAA’s role as a major economic engine for northern Nevada by supporting jobs, tourism and regional connectivity, while setting the stage for continued growth in 2026 and beyond.
