MEDIA ALERT – Airport Welcomes Home Olympian David Wise
Who: Olympic Gold Medal Winner David Wise, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and other local officials, airport representatives, the Wooster High School Band, and a crowd of hundreds of community members gather to welcome home a local athlete hero.
When: Friday, March 2, 2018 at 7 p.m.
What: Join us for a party of Olympic proportions at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport terminal building – which was actually built for the 1960 Squaw Valley Winter Olympics – the perfect place to welcome home local Olympian Gold Medal Winner David Wise. The Wooster High School Band, Wise’s alma mater, will perform the National Anthem as the crowd cheers “U.S.A.” and greets the Olympian home to Reno.
Where: Meet at the ski statue in the main lobby of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, the iconic statue representing the winter sports that bring millions of passengers to the region each year.
News media are invited to show up early to film the crowds as they assemble and wait for their local hero to return. News media please park in the Media Staging Area and gather on the first floor of the terminal.
Other well-wishers from the general public should park on the 3rd floor of the airport parking structure. Standard parking rates apply.
