Process Streamlined through Call For Entry

RENO, Nev. (Apr. 21, 2026) – The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) has released two new local Public Calls for Artists as part of it’s growing permanent art collection. The collection will be featured at the new Police and Airport Authority Headquarters (The HQ), the future home of Airport Police and RTAA personnel.

These upcoming calls will feature a more streamlined solicitation process, making it easier than ever for artists to apply. All future artist calls will be managed through CallForEntry.org (CaFE), an online platform that allows artists to create a free account, upload their portfolio in advance and receive notifications about upcoming public art calls.

As part of the MoreRNO infrastructure program, multiple locations across the airport campus will feature custom commissioned public art. These projects are designed specifically for each space, meaning selected artists will create new, original work tailored to the environment. As commissioned pieces, selected artists will be compensated for their work.

“This is an exciting opportunity for artists to help shape the visual identity of our airport and surrounding facilities,” said Cris Jensen, Interim President/CEO of the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority. “We are looking for creative, inspiring works that reflect the spirit and character of the Reno-Tahoe region.”

The HQ is part of the $1+ billion MoreRNO Infrastructure Program, the largest modernization effort in the airport’s history. Through the Arts at the Airport program, a dedicated minimum 1% of design and construction costs for capital improvement projects in public spaces come from RTAA funds for public art. This commitment ensures that creativity and culture remain part of the airport experience for passengers, employees and the broader community. Artists selected through this process will contribute to a lasting legacy, becoming part of the airport’s permanent art collection and enhancing the experience for millions of travelers each year.

These Call for Artists will be a hybrid RFQ/RFP process and invite professional artists or artist teams to submit qualifications and proposal ideas for custom commissioned pieces. The selected artists will be tasked with designing and fabricating pieces that reflect and inspire the Reno-Tahoe region.
