Santa and Mrs. Claus Flew into Stead to Delight Families and Provide a Magical Experience

RENO, Nev. (Dec. 16, 2023) – On the heels of a successful visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) last weekend, the jolly duo once again delivered joy to northern Nevada families during a visit to the Reno-Stead Airport (RTS) today.

Santa and Mrs. Claus touched down at RTS to spread holiday cheer through story time by the Christmas tree, crafts and books for children attending the event. Airport staff also shared information with attendees about the aviation industry to grow the next generation of pilots.

“We were thrilled to offer families in our community multiple chances to mingle with Santa and Mrs. Claus,” said Daren Griffin, President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA). “We are thankful for the organizations that work hard to put this event together and our dedicated staff at RTS.”

The event, which took place in the Freedom Flight Terminal at RTS, saw over 400 attendees. It was sponsored by Reno-Stead Airport, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, Washoe County Library, Reno Air Races, EAA – Young Eagles, Commemorative Air Force, and Paws for Passengers.

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) operates two of the most important economic drivers for our region–the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and the Reno-Stead Airport (RTS). The RTAA is financially self-sufficient, meaning it is funded through airport operations and not state or local taxes. Twelve airlines serve RNO, flying to multiple nonstop destinations throughout the United States and Mexico. For more details, visit www.renoairport.com.
