RENO, Nev. (July 2, 2025) – Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is gearing up for a busy Fourth of July travel period and is encouraging passengers to plan ahead. Travel volumes are expected to match last year’s numbers, with the busiest days forecasted to be Sunday, July 6 and Monday, July 7, when the airport expects more than 16,000 total passengers each day. The surrounding travel days are also expected to be active but with daily averages of around 14,000 passengers.

According to AAA’s 2025 Independence Day travel forecast, air travel is soaring to new heights this holiday. AAA projects a record 5.84 million travelers nationwide will fly to their destinations this week—up 1.4% over last year’s record. Air travelers now account for about 8% of all Fourth of July holiday travelers.
