MEDIA ALERT – Airport Salutes Local Heroes at Honor Flight Homecoming

What:  Join airport officials and members of the armed forces in welcoming home veterans from the first Honor Flight since February 2020 with a fitting military tribute including bagpipes, Quilts of Valor, and Paws 4 Passengers therapy dogs.

When:  Sunday, September 26, 2021 | 11:20 a.m. (Southwest Airlines Flight 621 arrival time)

(Program will begin when veterans land.)

Please meet at the ski statue at 11:00 a.m. for a special gate escort to video veteran procession.

Where:  Reno-Tahoe International Airport | Outside Baggage Claim Door B

This is an entirely outdoor event (other than media escort to the gate)

Who:  45 veterans from several wars and conflicts including World War II, plus family, friends, and community supporters from the Nevada Air National Guard, Civil Air Patrol, Blue Star Moms, Comstock Lode Quilters and more.

The public is invited to attend to show appreciation for the brave men and women who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.  Signs and flags are encouraged.

By order of the CDC and TSA, masks are required inside the airport.

Parking may be limited.
