RENO, Nev. (April 3, 2026) – Back pay has arrived, but the partial government shutdown isn’t over. We extend our sincere gratitude to the community for their tremendous support and stand ready to provide additional assistance to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees if needed. We extend our deepest appreciation to the entire TSA team at RNO for their unwavering commitment to safety and service during this challenging time.
Despite uncertainty surrounding pay, TSA officers have continued to report to work and perform their critical role in ensuring the safety and security of RNO. Their professionalism and resilience have not gone unnoticed.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication our local TSA partners have shown throughout this partial shutdown,” said Cris Jensen, Interim President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. “Their continued service reflects an extraordinary commitment to the mission of keeping RNO running safely.”
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority also wishes to thank the local community, airport partners and businesses who have come together to support our local TSA officers through generous donations and other acts of kindness. This outpouring of support has been a meaningful demonstration of appreciation during this time.
While the partial government shutdown is not yet resolved, our local TSA officers have received two out of three missed paychecks. Airport leadership will continue to monitor developments and support TSA employees through every step of this challenging time.
RNO remains open, operational and safe. Travelers are encouraged to arrive two hours before their departure time and check their flight status directly with their airline before traveling to the airport.
