Reno, Nev. – Reno-Tahoe International Airport is proud to announce daily nonstop service deep in the heart of Texas on American Airlines.

Starting Sept. 8, travelers can fly from RNO to Austin once a day to experience the rapidly growing Capital of Texas and its famous food, art, and music scene. This new flight on American Airlines continues RNO’s strong comeback from the pandemic.

“Today, RNO is offering the highest number of destinations in our 92-year history,” Daren Griffin, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said. “American Airlines has been a great partner bringing us nonstop service to Charlotte this summer and now another great city like Austin.”

Announcing another long-haul flight on a Legacy Carrier, and impressive crowds of passengers traveling through RNO, are powerful indicators of the success of a regional effort to position the region for a historic recovery, Jessica Sferrazza, Chair of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said.

“Our air service recovery shows our region is taking off thanks to the work of so many partners,” Sferrazza said. “We are seeing a renaissance because EDAWN, the RSCVA, our gaming and ski industries, the Chamber and our public officials are all working together to make this region so enticing for leisure and business.”

Austin joins an impressive list of new destinations announced at RNO this summer including Orange County and Burbank on Southwest Airlines, Charlotte on American and Jackson Hole on Allegiant Air.

American also flies nonstop from RNO to Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Phoenix. The new Austin flight on a 76-seat Embraer 175 goes on sale June 14 on www.aa.com. It departs RNO at 6:00 a.m. and arrives at 11:20 a.m. in Austin. It departs Austin at 8:30 p.m. and lands at RNO at 10:10 p.m.
