Travelers urged to arrive two hours early, offers limited-time rideshare discounts
RENO, Nev. (Mar. 19, 2026) – Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is preparing for a busy spring break travel period. On peak travel days – Mar. 20, 23, 26, 27 and 30 – approximately 16,000 passengers per day are expected to arrive and depart RNO. Airport officials are encouraging travelers to arrive at least two hours early and consider alternative transportation options to ensure a smooth journey.
Tips for departing passengers
- Getting to the airport: Traveler should be aware of construction in and around the airport. Go slow and watch for lane closures and new traffic patterns.
- Parking at the airport: Parking availability during spring break is expected to be limited and travelers are encouraged to consider:
– Reserving a parking spot in the airport garage (second floor or roof)
– Using a rideshare voucher between March 19 and April 6 by using promo code RNOSpring26 for discounted Uber or Lyft rides to the airport
– Being prepared to park in overflow requiring extra time to park and walk to the terminal
- Security wait times: Though RNO is not yet experiencing impacts to TSA wait times due to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding delay, passengers are urged to arrive early and stay informed before arriving at the airport

- JetBlue with Saturday-only service to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on March 14, 21 and 28
- JetBlue with service to New York City through March 28
- United with Saturday-only service to Houston through March 28
- Southwest with Saturday-only service to Dallas-Love through April
