Community invited to learn about existing conditions, aviation forecast, facility needs and share their feedback.
RENO, Nev. (June 16, 2026) – The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA), owner of Reno-Stead Airport (RTS), is undergoing a comprehensive airport master planning process to help determine the future of RTS. Over the two-year process, which began in September 2025, the RTAA will offer multiple opportunities for public participation, including a series of public open houses, pop-up events and RTAA Board meetings, allowing community members to review progress and provide input.
The RTAA will host its first public open house Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the Reno-Stead Airport Terminal located at 4895 Texas Ave., Reno, Nevada. Doors will open at 5:30 and the presentation begins at 6 p.m.
Attendees will hear from subject-matter experts about the master plan process, what has been completed to date and what comes next. At this first open house, the project team will share information and findings related to RTS’s existing conditions and what demand is expected.
This information will be used to develop potential paths forward for the airport over the next two decades. Those alternatives will be evaluated and discussed at a future public open house event. Following the presentation, attendees are encouraged to review display boards and speak directly with subject-matter experts available to answer questions about the master plan.
Community members are also invited to provide written feedback on the airport master plan either in person at the event or online via the Provide Input page.
After the open house, a recording of the presentation will be posted on the project website. Project materials are available online at rtsmasterplan.com.
