MEDIA ALERT – AIRPORT WELCOMES APPROXIMATELY 25,000 BURNERS with Art, Air Playa Info and Therapy Dogs

What: Beginning Thursday, August 25, Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) will welcome approximately 25,000 Burners for the annual Burning Man festival, which starts this weekend. RNO will be very busy through the course of the weekend as Burners begin their adventure to the Playa. As travelers arrive, they will be greeted by Paws 4 Passengers and a one-of-a-kind Burning Man art exhibition in Concourse C, curated by Sierra Arts Foundation.

When: Thursday, August 25 and Friday, August 26, 2022
Arrivals will take place through next week, however peak arrival days are Thursday and Friday.

Where: Reno-Tahoe International Airport entrance to Baggage Claim, between doors A and B.

Activities will take place near Air Playa Info, a welcome area staffed by local volunteers dedicated to assisting Burning Man attendees with information, directions and a warm Reno-Tahoe greeting.

Burning Man is the single biggest event each year at RNO where attendees bring in approximately $11 million in economic impact for the airport. Come see how Burning Man helps put the “international” in Reno-Tahoe International with travelers from over 34 countries.
