MEDIA ALERT – Santa and 20 Airplanes Land at the Airport to Benefit the Children’s Cabinet

What:              Santa and a parade of 20 aircraft will bring Christmas joy to families of the Children’s Cabinet this Saturday during a unique event called Operation Santa Claus at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Pilots from throughout the region will join an aircraft parade at RNO and use the planes to bring gifts for those less fortunate.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in a Nevada Air National Guard C-130.

The parade of planes will land and taxi as one large squadron to a hangar at Atlantic Aviation. They will be greeted by a crowd of several hundred guests and volunteers including the families receiving gifts. Operation Santa Claus is coordinated by the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, Atlantic Aviation and Reno-Tahoe Aviation Group.

When:             11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8

Who:               Executives from the Children’s Cabinet, Airport Officials Hundreds of volunteers including Wolf Pack football players, Flips gymnasts, North Valleys H.S. JROTC, McQueen H.S. choir, Paws 4 Passengers, airline employees and more.

Where:            Atlantic Aviation, 655 S. Rock Blvd. (see map)

                        Media parking will be available adjacent to the front door.

This event is not open to the general public. However, if you would like to assist with this program, cash donations can be made directly to the Children’s Cabinet in the name of Operation Santa Claus.
