Passengers urged to catch a ride this weekend, allow extra time if parking
RENO, Nev. (Feb. 20, 2026) – Parking capacity at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is temporarily reduced due to the ongoing snow removal operations following the recent winter storm.
“We received over 11 inches of snow this past week,” said Cris Jensen, RTAA Interim President/CEO. “Our snow removal teams are working hard to keep things clear for airplanes and passengers, but the weather event has led to parking overflow shortages.”
As crews continue working around the clock to clear lots and ensure safe conditions, parking facilities are at capacity and overflow lots are filling quickly. Passengers planning to travel in the coming days are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time, as they may be directed to park in a remote lot and take a shuttle to the airport. Public parking lots may reach capacity with little notice as snow removal efforts continue alongside strong passenger volume.
Travelers should consider catching a ride to the airport using a friend, family member, taxi, rideshare service or other ground transportation options and are also encouraged to check directly with their airline for the most up-to-date flight information before heading to the airport.
